Who We Are:

WNY Postpartum Connection, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving access to care for families in WNY who face perinatal mental health concerns.  The WNYPPC, Inc. website is a free directory of local mental health and support services for women who are pregnant or postpartum, or facing issues such as loss and fertility challenges, and their partners.  WNHYPPC is also a place for providers and community businesses to connect with one another.  The WNYPPC provider community includes over 125 independent practitioners, agencies, local support groups, supportive programs, and service providers in the community. WNYPPC provider network membership is free.  We organize and lead the annual Climb out of the Darkness Walk benefiting Postpartum Support International and local partners.  We provide education to groups in our community and promote access to care.  We collaborate with providers and community agencies as partners in our goal to improve access to perinatal mental health care for all families in our community.

What We Believe:

We believe that postpartum mental health concerns are very common and very treatable - no parent should suffer in silence simply because of a lack of resources.  We are committed to helping families access the care they need, without fear of discrimination.  We stand in solidarity with Black, Indigenous,  People of Color locally and nationally who are calling for change, and the individuals, families, and communities that have been impacted by the trauma of racially motivated murders, violence, and discrimination. We advocate for equity, inclusion, and access to care for underserved members of our community and work to remove barriers to mental health services.

How WNYPPC got started...

WNY Postpartum Connection, Inc. was created by three social workers, brought together by a common desire to improve mental health services for postpartum families. Early on we recognized that services for postpartum families were severely lacking in Western New York.   In an effort to bridge the gap, we became active in raising awareness about maternal mental health in the community, in networking with OBGYN and pediatric offices to promote screening and referrals, and have been integral partners in bringing more specialized training to therapists and other healthcare providers in Western New York, while being active members of the WNY PMAD Coalition (through the PRCNY Project 62).

In 2017 we created the WNY Postpartum Connection website to enhance local access to quality mental health services, and to promote quick and effective recovery for moms and their families.  In May 2020 we established WNYPPC as a not-for-profit corporation.

WNYPPC is a volunteer run 501(c)(3) organization.  Use of this website and network membership are free, although we welcome donations. If you would like to learn more about WNYPPC please contact us at We look forward to connecting with you!
