Training opportunities

Postpartum Support International offers several online and in-person trainings, offered several times a year in a variety of locations (and virtual).  PSI offers a provider listserv and monthly virtual peer supervision groups. They also hold an annual conference packed with workshops from experts in the field.  New in 2018, PSI now offers a certification in Perinatal Mental Health. There are many resources for clinicians on this site as well.


The Postpartum Resource Center of NY offers a variety of trainings for professionals, along with resources and awareness materials. For more information, click below or call them at 1-855-631-0001.


At the Postpartum Stress Center, Karen Kleiman offers an intensive postgraduate course at her facility in PA.  Click below for more information about upcoming trainings. This site also has some wonderful handouts and assessment tools for your clients.


Seleni Institute continuing education trainings equip providers, organizations, and advocates to support the emotional health of individuals and families by broadening your skills in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, loss and bereavement, mental health for young parents, and emotional wellbeing during COVID-19.

Scholarship Opportunities

  • Postpartum Support International

    Cynthia Wachenheim Scholarship

    Created in memory of Cynthia Wachenheim, who lost her life due to Postpartum psychosis, this scholarship is available to providers who practice in the state of NY only. Scholarship toward conference or training registration will be rewarded up to $400 per recipient.

  • Perinatal Mental Health Alliance

    For People of Color

    Working to build capacity among perinatal professionals to better support individuals, families and communities of color around perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, this scholarship helps people of color attend perinatal mental health training.

  • Maternal Mental Health Professionals

    The Seleni Institute

    Through its Scholarship for Maternal Mental Health Professionals, Seleni aims to better equip mental health professionals with 100 full scholarships through a quarterly application to one of its online trainings. The training awarded changes each quarter.

Additional resources

Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance (MMHLA), a nonpartisan  nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the mental health of mothers and childbearing people in the United States with a focus on national policy and health equity. MMHLA advocates for improved maternal mental health care and serves as a clearinghouse of information related to maternal mental health.


National Birth Equity Collaborative creates solutions that optimize Black maternal and infant health through training, policy advocacy, research, and community-centered collaboration.


Postpartum Support Virginia offers helpful downloadable resources and fact sheets and a "Perinatal Mental Health Hub" that has good information for families facing perinatal mental health concerns.


2020 Moms offers resources for providers, including screening tools, core competencies, recommendations for care, and billing resources (coding for perinatal depression).


Compeer Buffalo Postpartum Mentoring Program. Now accepting applications for moms and mentors.  Creating Friendships between People with Postpartum Experiences: Motherhood, this program offers peer support to help women thrive.
